OLC Dance Crew- Performance Opportunity

 

Hello Families! The OLC Dance Crew have an amazing opportunity to showcase what we have been working on this year at the Act-Belong-Commit YOH Fest, held at the beautiful Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre. Please see website: https://www.yohfest.com.au/ The Theme for the YOH Fest is ‘Keeping up with appearances’ and how young people are being impacted more than ever because of the power of social media.

 

This is NOT compulsory, and it is NOT a competition, but an incredible chance to dance on a stage and see other Primary and High School Dance performances from across the South West! Please see all details below:

 

Who: Year 5 & 6 OLC Dance Crew Dancers

What: Act-Belong-Commit YOH Fest (Youth On Health)

When: Friday August 20th 2021

Where: Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre (BREC)

Time: Dress/Stage Rehearsal at BREC/Bunbury at 4:30pm, with the YOH Fest Showcase starting at 6.30pm.

Extras: Tickets will be available for you to come and watch the YOH Festival for $14 and will be available to purchase on their website closer to the event.

 

After the Dress Rehearsal students will be provided a pizza dinner by the school and will be staying after the Dress/Stage Rehearsal for dinner and then Perform in the first half of the Showcase commencing at 6.30pm. We are asking for your preference out of the following:

 

OPTION 1: School Bus leaving from OLC straight from school to make the 4.30pm Rehearsal & School Bus to return to OLC after the show- Parents pick up students from OLC after the Performance approx 8.30pm ish

OPTION 2: School Bus leaving from OLC straight from school and Parents pick up child from BREC after the performance

OPTION 3: All students make their own way to and from BREC

This is NOT compulsory and if students are not available on this date/time or do not wish to participate they are still more than welcome to continue with the morning practices. In Semester 2 the OLC Dance Crew will be learning a new dance for the OLC Christmas Concert and the YOH Fest dance will be performed at the OLC Dance Concert held on the last day of Term 2 😊


*Full Attendance for Friday 8am Practices is essential please*

 

COSTUME REQUIREMENTS:

-Favourite funky outfit (that has stretch/student can dance in) bright colours are a plus!

-If students are wearing skirts please wear shorts or leggings underneath

-No crop tops please

-No accessories that may fall off during the dance routine

-Sneakers

 Hello OLC Families! I hope you are all enjoying the School Holidays.  I am still blown away by the student's performances at the OLC Dance Concert! We produced such an outstanding show and I couldn't be prouder! OLC DANCE CONCERT INFORMATION- FRIDAY, 2ND JULY 2021 WEEK 11

  Dance Concert Information- Week 11, Friday 2 nd July 2021 Hello Families! On the last day of Term 2, Friday 2nd July (Week 11 commencing at 1.40pm)  we will be presenting our first OLC Dance Concert! The students are so excited to show you what they have been working on in class this term.   ** If you know you are away for the last day of term can you please email me asap ellie.haines@cewa.edu.au so I know which students will be absent on Concert Day.** Please see all class costume information below: YEAR 3 3M- Summer Theme Costume Requirements: -Any bright summery outfit that students can dance in eg red, orange, pink, yellow, tie dye, Hawaiian etc to look like they are at the beach! -Boardies or any colour shorts that stretch please (no skirts/dresses without shorts underneath).  -Bare feet -Optional Hat that stays on their head while dancing or hair neat and out of face.
